Chief Financial Officer
Oversee Finance and MIS
Administrative Office, Lewisville
Full time with benefits
Salary Range --- $58,000-$62,000

Duties:

  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the financial records of the organization

  • Plans, organizes, and directs fiscal and management control functions maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the financial status of the organization

  • Maintain the working capital at level as established each year and monitor cash flow to ensure daily and long-term goals of the organization are met

  • Serve as a liaison to the Finance Committee and provide detailed monthly reporting regarding financial status of the organization

  • Oversee the annual audit process from coordinating with Directors to Board reporting

  • Maintain the investments of the organizations and work with an Investment Committee to monitor benchmarks

  • Develop annual budget for accuracy and feasibility

  • Assist Department heads with the annual budgeting process holding them accountable monthly

  • Ensure all Accounting policies and procedures are being followed with a focus surrounding cost containment

  • Provide departments with all financial data needed to perform their jobs including all grant information

  • Analyze resale and service trends and report to the COO and th President

  • Establish and maintain cost of units per service

  • Develop and maintain a financial strategic plan for the organization

  • Manage the organization’s insurance including general liability, umbrella, volunteer, and Director and Officers policies

  • Work with MIS to develop a comprehensive technology plan as well as ensure that all MIS needs are being addressed

  • Conduct cash and inventory audits to ensure we safeguard our assets

  • Own the process for the new cash register automation system including developing a training manual with a focus on internal controls in conjunction with COO and Resale Director

  • Maintain organization leases and awareness of all business contracts for the organization

Supervisory: 2 Direct Reports: Controller and Software Development Engineer

Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance or related subject.  MBA preferred.

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, including successful supervision.

  • Have a high degree of computer experience, including but not limited to accounting

  • Software, spreadsheet software, and word processing.

  • Capable of working independently, using good judgment and business acumen.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet time deadlines.

  • Ability to react to new assignments positively as well as proactively look for improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to work as a part of a team and have an outgoing, positive, pleasant, flexible personality.

  • Maintain a professional image at all times.

  • Ability to cope with the pressure of changing deadlines and changing assignments.

  • Capable of understanding and maintaining the “big picture”; yet able to perform accurately at the detail level.

Caseworker - Family Assistance Coordinator
SCHEDULE
: Monday - Friday Work hours vary - staggered shifts
Full time with benefits

Duties:

  • Determine eligibility of applicant families for CCA services

  • Determine families’ needs and resources

  • Contact utility company, landlord and/or other agencies to delay termination of services until after CCA has determined our response

  • In concert with the head of household, define measurable goals to be achieved

  • Assist families in the development of a plan of action to bring about the desired results

  • Provide direct assistance, advice, encouragement, and guidance

  • Pray with a client when appropriate

  • Be a good listener

  • Explore all relevant spiritual, emotional, and financial needs

  • Assist clients in finding the church of their faith or choice

  • Refer to other agencies as needed

  • Refer to related services within the organization

  • Complete field and home visits as required

  • Complete necessary paperwork, to include background information, meetings, and services rendered

  • Be aware of other agencies that provide related services

  • Additional duties as assigned, relative to the Family Assistance Program

Requirements:

  • Two positions are available, bi-lingual is NOT required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or related work experience

  • Ability to work with all faiths and denominations

  • Able to follow instructions as well as delegate responsibilities and carry out the mission of CCA.

  • Must possess strong budgeting skills.

  • Have a welcoming, caring, and understanding personality

  • Must possess the following attributes: loving, generous, encouraging, upbeat, self motivated, flexible, not critical of others, and not easily frustrated

  • Have a thorough understanding of CCA’s mission for the poor. Be fully aware of the services Christian Community Action offers, as well as other cooperating agencies

  • Ability to solve problems under time pressure.

  • Able to react to new assignments positively and to handle other tasks as they arise.

  • Must be able to work staggered hours as needed

  • Must have a good driving record, have access to an automobile and be willing to transport families, volunteers, and/or make field and home visits regardless of territory.

  • Current member of a local church.

Furniture Displayer - Resale by CCA – The Colony

Schedule: 12:00   -8:30 pm  Monday – Saturday

Sunday and Tuesday off

40  hours per week
Full time with benefits

Duties:

  • Daily incoming furniture must be moved out to the sales floor efficiently.

  • Unload trucks and move the furniture to sales floor.

  • Responsible to display and rotate furniture.

  • Knowledge of assembling furniture from their boxes.

  • Either should be skilled or prepared to acquire skills to capably price furniture, keeping in mind the value of collectibles and antiques.

  • Responsible for ensuring aisles meet all safety regulations.

  • Responsible for directing the work of assigned volunteers.  Ensure that work is done correctly and completed at the end of the shift.

  • Monitor sales daily and weekly, working jointly with immediate supervisor in creating ways to affect the upward trend of sales goals.

  • Mark items "sold" and note in sales log.

  • Assist with loading trash to the trash bins.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Furniture assignment involves  lifting of 50 lbs.+ without strain.

  • Able to keep a fast pace of continuous movement of furniture. 

  • The applicant should be physically fit, capable of constant bending, stooping, reaching all throughout the day.

  • Must know how to assemble furniture from boxes.

  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time.

  • Must have knowledge of and experience with excellent customer service.

  • Must understand store policies and be capable of enforcing them.

  • Must understand and complete proper paperwork.

  • Must be capable of working with dirt, dust, mildew, molds, odors etc.

  • Must be a self starter, capable of working alone, but also enjoy working with others.

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed.

  • Must be flexible with working hours and prepared to work overtime when required.

  • Must be neat, clean and well groomed.

Assistant Truck Driver - Donation Center
Schedule: Tuesday  — Saturday  8:30 — 5:00 pm 40 hours per week

Duties:

  • Work as a competent, safe assistant to the driver.

  • Assist in performing minor repairs to the truck as needed.

  • Pick up and deliver 16 units per day, including dump runs, store deliveries, recycling, etc.

  • Load and unload truck with donations, carefully securing breakable items.

  • Provide a receipt to every donor at time of pickup.

  • Responsible to report any and all incidents involving donors, donations, truck, personal injury etc. to the manager immediately.

  • Ensure that trucks are refueled at all times, especially at the end of the work day and on weekends.

  • Complete additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Capable of assisting the driver for extended periods of time - usually approximately 8 hours a day.

  • Capable of reading and understanding Mapsco maps.  Familiarity with Lewisville and the surrounding area.

  • Must be courteous and well mannered when dealing with donors, fellow employees, and the general public.

  • Must be capable of working with dirt, dust, mildew, molds, odors etc.

  • Must be a self starter, capable of working alone, but also enjoy working with others.

  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. without strain.  This is a constant requirement all day and necessitates that the person be physically fit.

  • Must be able to operate a fork-lift safely.

  • Must be able to use a dolly safely.

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed.

  • Must be flexible with working hours and prepared to work overtime when required.

  • Must be clean, well groomed, and adhere to the dress code.
