The vocational services offered at CCA engage and empower families by providing the information and training they need to develop and complete their dreams. Classes and training are provided through a variety of approaches and forums and include:

GED classes
Individuals without high school diplomas are encouraged to participate in our General Education Development (GED) program. Students meet twice a week with the option of attending class during the day or evening. Classes prepare students to take and pass the state administered GED test. Upon receiving their GED, students are offered career assessments to aid in determining their next educational goal.
Classes are held:
Monday and Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Individuals who need to learn English or want to improve their skills are encouraged to participate in one of four levels of English as a Second Language class. Offered several different days and times to accommodate a variety of schedules, four classes are held each day and time based on level (Level 1, 2, 3, 4). Once referred to ESL, students will be assessed to determine which level is most appropriate. Upon graduation from our ESL program, students are encouraged to enroll in our GED program.
Classes are offered each week on:
Tuesday 9-10:45 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m.
Thursday 9-10:45 a.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.
Friday 10-11:30 a.m.
Literacy Classes
This class teaches students basic reading and writing skills and is available in English and Spanish. Class sessions are taught in group and individual settings.

Keyboarding
Keyboarding is a traditional typing course utilizing the Mavis Beacon Tutorial program. Through continual practice, the goal for each student is to reach 15 words per minute (wpm).

Intermediate Computer
During this 8-week computer course, students will learn formatting and editing skills along with how to work with multiple-page documents.
Class meets:
Tuesday 7-8:30 p.m.
Excel
During this 6-week course, students will gain a thorough knowledge of Excel and how to use its workbook tools.
Class meets:
Wednesday 7-8:30 p.m.
PowerPoint
During this 6-week course, students will learn a thorough knowledge of PowerPoint and how to create professional presentations.
Class meets:
Thursday 7-8:30 p.m.
Job Search Support Group
At this time, specific classes are taught to develop positive job search skills, share current job leads that have been generated by CCA staff or provided to CCA by specific companies. On occasion motivational speakers are scheduled along with job networking experts. Several companies have also attended this group and conducted on-site interviews and screenings.

Budgeting
For those needing improved skills in financial management and budgeting, this service provides one-on-one training with a financial expert volunteer. Schedule is flexible and determined by family and volunteer trainer.
Free Tax Preparation
Each year, CCA has certified volunteers to assist individuals and families with their taxes that are then filed electronically.
Connect to Success
Through this program, designed to enrich and empower students in grades 9 through 12 and their parents, participants will learn the importance of developing and implementing a post high school plan.
Forklift Certification
For those individuals currently working in the warehouse industry who would like to qualify for of a higher wage position within their organization, CCA offers a forklift certification program. With this certification, individuals will be qualified to operate a forklift, providing the opportunity to make $10 to $12 per hour at an entry-level rate.
