A Pivotal Moment

We are living in a time of unprecedented risk but also an unparalleled opportunity for the future of our communities.
Long-term effects of the pandemic and inflation are leading us into uncharted territory.

Our communities are at a critical point where the decisions and actions taken by us will determine the future of
families in Denton County. To survive and prosper, we must urgently move towards a healthy community where people thrive, now and for generations to come.

Helping our Neighbors Thrive

Building on half a century of experience, and with an impressive track record in Denton County, CCA has the unique ability to drive change. We take an evidence-based, collaborative approach to finding solutions to end poverty.

We are working to prevent homelessness and food insecurity. We help people experiencing homelessness get off the streets. We are supporting our most precious gifts: our children. We embrace our senior citizens who worked hard throughout their life but can’t survive on a fixed income. We are educating and empowering our neighbors to become self-sufficient and prosper. Together, with donors and volunteers, we are bringing hope and changing lives.

Our long-term vision is simple: to create families who thrive. Together, we can achieve our mission to alleviate suffering, bring hope, and change lives.

Our History

Since 1973 we have been rescuing, healing, feeding, and educating families in need. What started as a Bible study of eight people 50 years ago has grown into an organization of 30 employees and over 5,500 volunteers dedicated to serving.

The group that met that February evening in 1973, studied Matthew 25 where Jesus says that if you care for “the least of these,” it’s as if you are caring for him. They also studied the story of the Good Samaritan and asked themselves, “Who are our neighbors in need?”

They were moved to action, and today, CCA is still serving vulnerable families with a faith-based approach.

Our Vision

To create an environment where all interactions are Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and life-changing. Together, in partnership with foundations, businesses, churches, organizations, individuals and our supporters, we offer wrap-around services free of charge to bring hope and change lives.

CCA focuses on change through these programs:

Our Core Values

Over the past 50 years, we’ve learned how to work effectively, build support, and create lasting results. Today, we’ve distilled that knowledge into six fundamental principles that guide our day-to-day actions and our long-term vision.

Dignity

We serve everyone with whom we come into contact as simply, thoroughly, and quickly as possible, treating them with compassion and dignity, and seeking to encourage and foster their self-esteem, regardless of their circumstances or action.

” Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity.”
Titus 2:7

Excellence

We perform every task with excellence and ensure that our words and actions always agree.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8

Servant Spirit

We conduct ourselves in the spirit and example of Jesus Christ; exhibiting love, a heart of forgiveness and an attitude of mutual respect for everyone.

“Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. ”
Philippians 2:3-5

Trust

We trust our fellow team members in every facet of our interactions and expect the best of them, while maintaining the highest levels of trust among our Community partners and clients.

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.” Romans 12:10

Diversity

We Treat everyone with justice and equality, without any degree of bias or discrimination, and upholding our faith while being tolerant and understanding of the beliefs of others.

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.” Revelation 7:9
