Make a Difference
Faced with an eviction letter and nowhere to go, the expecting Mom came to CCA for assistance. Her job at an urgent care center had been cutting back her hours because of COVID. CCA was able to help her with multiple months of rental assistance, and within days was able to pick up a check for the landlord. She was elated.
This story has repeated itself over and over in recent weeks at Christian Community Action.
Families in poverty were the first ones to be affected by the pandemic and will be the last ones to recover.
But CCA faces a predicament. Because of the large demand for financial assistance we have faced in the first two months of this year, we need your help to prevent us from turning away any family needing help.
You can help us by making a donation today to help us continue to help families.
We do not want to turn any family away.
During the pandemic, we have helped thousands of families with rent and mortgage assistance and kept them from going homeless, and the need continues to grow in our communities.
Job loss, fewer work hours, higher prices at the gas station and at the grocery store have all combined to make it harder on families in poverty in our area.
In Lewisville, for example, more than 11,000 people live below the poverty line, according to the 2020 U.S. census.
CCA is doing all we can to help as many families as we are able. Besides financial assistance, we’ve started English as a Second Language classes, financial and computer literacy classes and even hosted a Job Fair a few days ago to help get our families back to work.
Help us make a continued difference in the lives of families right here in our communities with a financial donation today.
Better yet, join the growing list of those who are contributing monthly to CCA.
