Random Acts of Kindness Day
I attended a recent chamber luncheon where the stars of the Flower Mound community were honored; people who go above and beyond serving one another and serving our community. Out of kindness, they help make where we live better.
Congratulations to all the winners, especially on a day like today when we celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness. But, one day of reminders to BE KIND is not enough. We need constant reminders because left to our own, we will forget to BE KIND.
Seems like a such a simple thing to do. BE KIND. But we forget because we have things to do and places to go. I believe hurry is the enemy of kindness. In his book “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry,” pastor John Mark Comer writes the following: “Hurry kills relationships. It kills joy, gratitude, appreciation; people in a rush don’t have time to enter the goodness of the moment.” Or to BE KIND.
Those who were honored at the luncheon are people who take time to serve beyond the call of duty; they extend themselves for others and for the betterment of all of us. Kindness makes us all better.
At Christian Community Action (CCA), we see the need to extend kindness to people who are hurting every day. Every day, someone needs more than just financial assistance, more than just a visit to our pantry for food, more than just counseling, more than just school supplies and toys for their children; they also need kindness.
I invite you to join us today on our mission of alleviating suffering, bringing hope, and changing lives by contributing financially to our cause. Your contribution helps further our mission of providing comprehensive services to those families who are hurting financially. Better yet please consider joining our Good Samaritan monthly giving club and support CCA year-round.
The need is great, so BE KIND today.
