Run to Support CCA!
It’s time! All the preparation you’ve done to get yourself in 5K shape and now you have a chance to show it off! CCA’s Hopeful Hearts 5K/1M race is upon us – Saturday, September 25th in Old Town Lewisville – in partnership with the City of Lewisville’s Western Days. Register now.
The event is a fun way to help us with a serious issue – poverty. There are people struggling—to put food on the table, to find a ride to work, to recover, to survive. These are people in Denton, Sanger, Lewisville, Corinth, Argyle, and other surrounding towns in Denton County.
For families wrestling with poverty, the effects of the pandemic exasperate it, in fact, the need for financial assistance for rent, utilities, and groceries continue to grow. People are losing their homes. People are hungry.
By participating in the event, whether you join us in person or through a donation you will help change the protectory of their lives and most importantly, their children. And, through our life-skills and spiritual counseling, you’ll help families move out of poverty on the road to self-sufficiency, thus, breaking the cycle of poverty.
We’re thankful for the business community and individuals who have helped sponsor the event and make it a successful one. Thank you!
If you are not into running, you can still help our efforts by making a contribution or by participating in the Hopeful Hearts Online Auction. There are some great items up for bid, including an outstanding collection of Dallas Cowboys items, a large Big Green Egg, a 3-night vacation stay, various local restaurants, Texas Ranger and theatre tickets, and several other items.
So, lace up those running or walking shoes and join us for a fun event. Our Honorary Chair, Tony Tolbert, Event Chair Tricia Duffy, and I look forward to seeing you there!
Let’s go,
