The Gratitude Devotional Series – Day 6: God Is Love
Our world is full of greater pressures and demands than ever before. We are living in unprecedented times, facing unfamiliar trials, and feeling unparalleled tensions. However, there is no reason for you to feel inadequate or ill equipped to overcome whatever comes your way. God’s power is unleashed in you and enables you to “…tread upon the heights” (Hab. 3-19).
You, as an individual, daily show that you “tread upon the heights” as you administer LOVE to our community.
For nearly 23 years I have watched some of God’s people in need, be showered with love by some of God’s other people! To me, that is LOVE, that is something that shows gratitude to God for being able to help others.
Remember our Christian actions are our thanks to our God for the ability, the resources, the belief etc. to carry forth his LOVE for all of us. I am thankful for the opportunity to see God’s LOVE put forth by many for a few.
Personally, I am thankful for a God who guides and sustains me and my family throughout our lives. In the face of death and serious illness as well as in the best of times, God’s LOVE is the rock upon which I build my house (and one for you).
As it says in James 5:15-16, “The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord will raise him up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.”
- What are you thankful for today?
