What Does It Feel Like To Be Hungry?
What does it feel like to be hungry?
In 2020 and continuing into this year, over 60 million people turned to food banks and community programs for help putting food on the table. Food banks, like the Christian Community Action Food Pantry that provides groceries for up to 500 families per week.
Closer to home, in Denton County over 90,000 people are considered food insecure by Feeding America, the national organization of food banks across the U.S. That number is larger than the population of Flower Mound and about twice more than the population of The Colony.
In Denton County, almost 30,000 children are considered food insecure, meaning they don’t know where their next meal will come from. That’s especially true in the summer months when children are out of school.
That’s why CCA operates Kids Eat Free where we provide more than 30,000 meals during the summer to children who would go without and would be hungry.
What does it feel like to be hungry and not know where your next meal will come from?
For most of us, the decision is what we’re going to have for our next meal. Not so for these children.
Help us make a continued difference in the lives of children right here in our communities by supporting Kids Eat Free with a financial donation today.
Better yet, join the growing list of those who are contributing monthly to CCA to help fund children’s programs like Kids Eat Free, Back-to-School and Christmas Cheer.
Give today so that a child won’t go hungry.
Thank you.
